November 6, 2019
Hello and welcome to Hobby Point channel. My name is Anastasiya. This is the 2nd part of the tutorial on tatted flowers. The link to the 1st part is at the top right corner or in the video description. In the 1st part, we’ve completed 2 rows of petals. The 3rd row should be made in the same way but with petals of 7 stitches, a picot, 12 stitches, a picot, 7 stitches. We should have 7 petals in this row separated by chains of 2 stitches. Hide one of the ends and using the other end sew the row to the previous rows of petals. Hide the thread and carefully cut off the end. Basically our flower is ready. To complete it we should add a core. In this flower, I used a bead as the core. And in the 3rd row, I added 3 picots to each petal. The middle picot is bigger than the other ones. In this flower, I made the core out of yellow beads, and added beads to the picots of petals. In this flower, I added several picots to each petal of the flower. And the core is formed from a Josephine ring. In the same flower as we have just tatted, the core is made of short Josephine chains, also called S & Z chains. To make such a chain, we need to tat only 1st halves of the double stitch. Make several short chains and insert them into the middle of the flower. To make such a core tat a usual double stitch. Then make 1st halves of the double stitch only and leave big picots in between. At the end of the chain make a usual stitch and close the ring. I hope you’ve enjoyed the tutorial.
